Top 10 Things You Can do During This Legislative Session

Find out what you can do to help the Sierra Club these next few months!

  1. Find your representative in order to contact them during this Legislative Session. To find your representative please click on this link: http://mdelect.net/electedofficials/

  2. Sign-up for action alerts from the Citizen's Campaign for the Environment, CCE. http://mdecosystem.e-actionmax.com/default.asp

  3. Sign-up to volunteer in the Maryland Sierra Club office with phone-banking. If you are interested in volunteering for phone-banking please call the office at (301) 277-7111 with your name, phone number, e-mail address, and issues you would  especially like to work on.

  4. Sign-up to attend Lobby Day (February 20, 2006). If you are interested in attending please send an e-mail to maryland@sierraclub.org with the title "Will Attend Lobby Day 2006" and include your name, phone number, e-mail and home addresses.  Also include your county, and if you know it, your legislative district.

  5. Contact your representatives. Write a personal letter (even handwritten), send a fax or an e-mail, and give them a call!

  7. Lobby your representatives in person. Please refer to the Maryland Department of Government Services Article “Reminders for General Assembly Visitors: Helpful Hints for 2006 Legislative Session” for information about visiting your representatives: http://www.dgs.maryland.gov/press/2006/010606.htm

  8. Sign-up to testify in front of the committees. Please contact the Issue Chair listed in each Legislative Issue article for more information.

  9. Organize or attend an Issue Forum.

  10. Send in a donation to help support our efforts. Pledges will go towards phone-banking, making copies of letters, fliers, and testimonies, and parking fees. Please make checks out to Sierra Club Maryland Chapter.
