The Montgomery Group will sponsor conservation hikes to educate citizens about important local issues. These conservation hikes will be listed with MWROP (see below) and on this page. If you would like information about local and regional outings (hikes, biking, canoe trips, volunteer activities, etc.) contact the Metropolitan Washington Regional Outings Program (MWROP). MWROP is the outings 'wing' of the Sierra Club.

Sierra Club Conservation Hikes. These outdoor events are half-day, leisurely walks through local forests and other ecosystems. They are designed to educate members about the natural history of and human impacts on our park system. The Sierra Club encourages outings participants to carpool to the trailhead, but such travel is at the participants discretion, and risk. Outings normally begin at the trailhead.
