Roaring Plains Backpack, Monongahela National Forest, WV

Photos by Michael Juskelis, 2007/09/15-17.

View of Dolly Sods from the South Prong Trail.

Looking at the South Prong Drainage from our "Secret Vista".

We awoke on Sunday to a frost on the blueberry bushes. Some folks had ice in their water bottles.

Andy and Ann take in the view at our first vista on Sunday. The valleys were full of fog!

Our next vista was a short walk from the Pipeline. The ridge to the right is called "The Point".

Panoramic view from "The Point".

Another view from "The Point".

Hay Stack Knob from "The Point".

John (almost off camera), Betty and Ellen take in the views from "The Point" as they munch on their lunch.

Saki photographs the sights from "Crevice Rock".

Coming down from "the mother of all talus slopes" after rock hopping along it for 1/4 mile. From front to back: Ann, Jody, Ellen and waaay up there is Betty.

Andy spotted this interesting pink fungus growing with the lichen on the Pipeline.

One of several Monarch caterpillars seen on milkweed plants as we returned to camp.
