Laurel Fork Wilderness Backpack, Monongahela National Forest, WV

Photos by Michael Juskelis, 2007/09/01-03.

Pastoral views along the West Fork / Allegheny Trail.

View along the Laurel River.

Finding beauty in a gas pipeline swath.

Our second night's camp under some majestic Hemlocks.

Saki takes in a pleasant view of Glady Fork during a break.

Paul found this Monkshood (Aconitum uncinatum) buried in the weeds near our second night's camp. This odd shaped flower is in the buttercup family.

We found a large cluster of Great Lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica) at the Beulah Trailhead. The derivation of its scientific name is that, at one time, it was thought to cure syphilis.
