This well-named Hemlock Varnish Shelf fungus was found on a dead hemlock tree.

If you look closely at the picture above, you'll see this Pleasing Fungus Beetle (Megalodacne heros).

Our group in Dark Hollow at the lunch stop along Hosack Run.

A few late-blooming mountain laurel bushes near the top of the ridge.
