View along the Twin Oaks Trail.
Goat's Rue or Devil's Shoestrings (Tephrosia virginiana). The roots used to be fed to goats to increase milk production until it was found to contain rotenone, an insecticide and fish poison. There was an outstanding patch of these growing along the service road for a shelter we used as a break spot.
The Red Spotted Purples were still hanging around the trail junction when we returned.
Hawkweed of some sort, but there are a number of similar varieties, so we'll have to take a closer look next time.
Yellow Wood Sorrel.
