Bucktail Trail / Halfmoon Lookout, WV

Our first view of the ridges as we walked up Bucktail Trail. You can see a valley between the distant peaks.

This rocky ridge is aptly named... "Rocky Ridge"!

Stunning rock formation along Halfmoon Run. There are two different Halfmoon Runs on this hike!

Spectacular view of Trout Run Valley from Halfmoon Lookout. Scanning left to right: Mill Mountain with Big Schloss and Wolf Gap in the distance, Tibbet Knob straight away, Long Mountain to the right.

The crew spreads out among the rocks basking in the sun like a bunch of turtles on the first spring-like day of the year.
