Welcome to the Eastern Shore Sierra Club Webpage
The Eastern Shore Group covers a long stretch of Maryland east of the bay, from Elkton to Ocean City, and includes nine counties:
Cecil, Kent, & Queen Anne's (North), Talbot, Caroline, & Dorchester (Central), & Somerset, Wicomico, & Worcester (South).
Although planning and coordination is understandably more difficult than in more populated areas, we consequently have a vast and precious portion of our land and waterways to protect and preserve.
We have a special need for a Membership Chair, to coordinate membership, and for an Outings Chair and Leaders. Whatever your specialty, concern, or area of interest, if you are a Sierra Club member* from one of these counties, we have room for you, and various resources (financial, personnel, technical assistance) at our disposal.
We need members from all areas to get involved. As it is such a large and diverse geographical area, there is plenty of opportunity. Please contact us; we will be happy to hear from you:

LEADERS WANTED!
The Eastern Shore Group is in the process of re-building.
Given that it covers such a large area of Maryland, it is important that we first organize regionally (ideally, in every county), then gradually coordinate our efforts.
A temporary executive committee has been formed until formal elections are held in the fall. We are currently accepting nominations for board positions.
The temporary Ex-Comm. meets in person every other month at selected venues throughout our region and by conference call in the intervening months.
If you are interested in member outreach, arranging meetings or outings, or any other facet of this endeavor please contact Alana Wase or Laurel Imlay at the state level or one of us from the ES group (See personnel at left.)
The Eastern Shore is too precious for the Sierra Club not to have a strong presence here. Please join us in building an active, effective group!
