Help develop a sustainable transportation plan for Baltimore
Kathy Harget, The Young Sierrans Chair, has been appointed as member of Baltimore City 's new Commission on Sustainability and is Chair of the Transportation Working Group for the development of a Sustainability Plan to improve the quality of life now and for generations to come. The Transportation Working Group is one of six that have been formed to focus on the following topics:
- Air & Energy
- Water
- Waste
- Green Infrastructure
- Built Environment
- Transportation
The Sustainability Plan is an opportunity to transform City policy and guide future actions by government, business, and individuals on the wide variety of ways to make the City a more environmentally friendly and a better place to live. Listed below are the dates, times, and locations of the July "Community Conversations" for each of the six Working Groups.
The July and August "Community Conversation" meetings are to develop goals, strategies, and indicators to for each of these topic areas. Specifically, the Transportation Working Group will be looking for ways to make the transportation system more multi-modal, accessible, efficient, equitable, integrated, safe, and environmentally-responsible.

The August meeting of the Transportation Working Group will be at 5:45 p.m. on August 21st at the Orleans Public Library (1303 Orleans St). After the Working Groups have concluded their outreach there will be additional opportunities to provide input to all topic areas at the Mayor's Night In on September 17th and at a meeting of the Sustainability Commission on October 28th.
