Saturday, March 3, 2012 Science Fair –

Can you help judge?

Judy Mauriello

Science Fair time is here!  The Anne Arundel Group of the Sierra Club will again be awarding prizes for our choices for the best student projects relating to the environment; and that means, as always, that we need judges to select these projects.

The 2012 Regional Science and Engineering Fair, sponsored by Anne Arundel County Public Schools, will be:

Saturday, March 3, 2012

8:30 am - Noon

North County High School

Glen Burnie, MD.

We award a first prize (plaque and $100 check) and up to three honorable mentions (certificate and $50 check) to projects that we feel display a good understanding and application of the Scientific Method and apply to the environment of the Chesapeake Bay Region.

Judging the projects is always an interesting and rewarding experience.  It is pleasurable to interact with the young and engaged scientists.  You do not have to be a scientist by training to be a Sierra Cub judge at the Science Fair.  You do need to be interested in the environment, interested in interacting with the student scientists and discussing their projects with them, and be willing to donate four hours of your time on a Saturday morning.

If you wish to participate in judging for the Sierra Club awards or simply want more information, please contact Judy Mauriello, by email jzmaur@gmail.com, or phone 410-647-9641.

We need at least 10 judges, so I’m hoping to hear from several of you.  I can promise you a most rewarding morning.
