Leadership Ballot Coming in Chesapeake
Anne Arundel Sierra
Club executive committee elections are coming up,
but there’s an important change in voting procedures
While candidates are listed (on page 5) in this
newsletter, the Anne Arundel group’s Sierra Log, the
actual ballot will be coming to you in the Maryland
Chapter’s tabloid newsletter, the Chesapeake. This
new system follows the move to online distribution
of the Sierra Log – what you’re reading right now –
to save the increasing postage and production costs
of a print edition, around $4,000 per year.
We have a lot of members’ email addresses but
nowhere even approaching all of them, so electronic
balloting is out of the question if everyone is to
have the opportunity to help choose group
leadership. In contrast, the Chesapeake reaches
virtually every single Anne Arundel Group member.
So, please read through the candidate statements
here; check them again when the next issue of the
Chesapeake hits your mailbox; feel free to write in
your name or that of any other Sierran you think
would be equipped and willing to serve, and of
course be sure to return your marked ballot as
instructed in the Chesapeake.
Ten members serve on the executive committee, in
staggered two-year terms.
Remember, we’re an all-volunteer group, so we always
need people to step up and help us do the group’s
work. If you’d like to know more about the election
process, or the executive committee’s work, call
chair David Prosten at 410-703-0847, or email email@example.com.
