With our bay and ocean shores, Maryland is especially at risk to sea level rise due to climate change. We have enacted several pieces of legislation to address the problem, but it is clear that we will only meet the pollution reduction goals needed to protect Maryland if we invest heavily in offshore wind power. In fact, we could get a third of our electricity from offshore wind, which would lock in stable energy prices as the fuel is free, create much-needed new jobs, and produce zero emissions.
