Want to host an outing but don't know where to begin?  We're here to help.  Here is a brief description of some potential outings to take your group on.

Walks:

Thinking about taking a walk around the gorgeous Mattawoman watershed?  Here is a chart to compare three already planned walks, as well as a map of the area

Kayak Tour:

Kayak tours are a great way to allow people to experience the majesty of the Mattawoman firsthand.  To follow a previously mapped out kayak trip, feel free to use our Mattawoman Tour Script as well as an accompanying map of the creek.

Extra Information:

Here are some links to extra information about the Mattawoman watershed and the current state of the creek

Beyond Natural Gas Outing

Cove Point Hike at Calvert Cliffs State Park

Bring some friends and neighbors to Calvert Cliffs State Park! If you take the Red Trail (known as the Cliffs Trail) to the beach, you can search for fossils and shark teeth from the prehistoric Miocene era.

The beach also has a great vantage point of the Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) Plant Boat Terminal in the Bay. It provides a great place to talk about the current issues with hydrofracking and the LNG export plant in Maryland.

Here are some materials to bring with you!
