Alien Invasive Plant Removal Internship

GOAL: To learn about, participate in, and outreach to build participation in local alien invasive plant removal projects with the Sierra Club Maryland Chapter.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Attend 5 alien invasive plant removal outings.
  2. Read several articles about alien invasive plants and current methods of control.
  3. Make a short presentation for several UMCP campus groups, events, or classes, inviting students to participate in invasive plant removal projects with the Sierra Club Maryland Chapter.
  4. Learn to identify several alien invasive plant and several native plant species.
  5. Communicate regularly with the Maryland Chapter Coordinator to report progress and get feedback and advice.
  6. Maintain a journal and write a short (1-3 page maximum) description and evaluation of your internship experience.

Internship will be supervised by Laurel Imlay, the Maryland Chapter Coordinator
