WHAT: PG County Public Hearing on The Preliminary General
Plan
WHEN: Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at 7:00 p.m.
WHERE:
County Administration Building
Council Hearing Room
1471 Gov. Oden Bowie Dr.
Upper Marlboro, MD 20772
WHY: We need to tell the Prince George’s County Council
that we want a land use zoning plan that protects our natural areas and county
resources, puts public money into older developed areas inside the beltway,
protects our schools from overcrowding, provides public transportation, protects
our health, air and water, and quality of life.... This is our chance!
according to the
MNPPC website:
THE GENERAL PLAN sets forth broad, comprehensive policy
recommendations to guide future development countrywide. It represents the
results of an evolving definition of county growth policies. The draft Preliminary
General Plan represents a departure from earlier county plans. The implemenation
strategies are guided by countywide goals, guiding principles, and priorities.
The core provisions of the plan,
growth policy tiers and Centers, play a
critical role in achieving the county’s highest development
priorities.
PREPARATION:
Read the plan if you can at www.mncppc.org
