Here at the Montgomery County Sierra Club, we are achieving our goals because of our effective volunteer network that works tirelessly to protect our natural habitats, reduce our carbon footprint, and promote smart growth and mass transit. Your support is crucial to help our volunteers continue their great work.
Our volunteers are supporting the membership's priorities by:
- Testifying before the County Council and county agencies
- Researching and shaping legislation
- Mobilizing volunteers to take action
- Partnering with key organizations and government departments
- Delivering education programs
- Informing members through publications
- Registering positions through letter writing and e-mail
Our efforts are improving our community by:
- Increasing home energy efficiency and saving money on energy bills
- Expanding biodiversity in our parks by removing invasive plants and protecting and restoring natural habitats
- Protecting natural areas from over development
- Reducing storm water run off
- Preserving agricultural areas
- Planting trees and restoring natural resources
- Increasing access to mass transit
