Sierra Club’s Inner City Outings is
an all-volunteer, urban outreach program.
Its mission is

To promote and develop greater
understanding of other cultures, foster respect of self and others, and provide
leadership skills.

To protect and appreciate all
wilderness through outdoor exploration, education, sharing and spiritual growth.
Baltimore
Inner City Outings (BICO), founded in 1999, provides
under-served Baltimore City youth with educational, enjoyable, safe, cost-free
outdoor experiences. Since start-up,
BICO has conducted more than 185 outings including

nature hikes
**
camping, canoeing & caving
**
initiative and confidence coursework
**
orienteering
**
cycling
**
community service for Baltimore’s Recreation & Parks Dept.
