                                 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

 

 

The Sierra Club’s Inner City Outings is an all-volunteer, urban outreach program.   Its mission is   

·         To promote and develop greater understanding of other cultures, foster respect of self and others, and provide leadership skills.

·         To protect and appreciate all wilderness through outdoor exploration, education, sharing and spiritual growth.

Baltimore Inner City Outings (BICO), founded in 1999, provides under-served Baltimore City youth with educational, enjoyable, safe, cost-free outdoor experiences.   Since start-up, BICO has conducted more than 185 outings including     

                                                                     

** nature hikes

** camping, canoeing & caving

** initiative and confidence coursework

** orienteering

** cycling

** community service for Baltimore’s Recreation & Parks Dept.
