Poplar Island Restoration Tour, Chesapeake Bay

When:

Aug 7, 2008
9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.

Details:

This trip is a great opportunity to view the restoration of Poplar Island, an historic island in the Chesapeake Bay, which provides a beneficial use of dredge material. Hundreds of thousands of native marsh grasses have been planted on the island, providing wildlife habitat. Poplar Island is expected to serve as a wintering site, transient stop, and nesting location for local and migratory wildfowl.  For more information:  http://www.mdflora.org/events/trips.html
